I hired Amy to be my doula for my 5th pregnancy which is also my last. We had never had a doula before, but my last epidural with my 4th labor messed up my back so I wanted to go unmedicated all the way. I wasn't due til December 1st, but started having issues and Amy was always positive no matter what I was told or the changes. They took my daughter st 34weeks and 1 day. She was messaging me then they made the decision to induce and she came as soon as we got a room. Which was also the day of our 2nd appointment with Amy to learn about labor techniques. My husband and I both received support from her and my labor went fast. I went from 3 to 10 cm in an hour and she kept reassuring me I could do it. Once I hit transition I was ready to stop, but ready to push at the same time. Without the support of Amy and my husband I wouldn't have been able to get through it. She was amazing. She held my hand, helped coach me, and even stayed with me while they took our baby up to nicu and my husband went with her. She knew my body could do it, but I was one of those who needed to hear it over and over. If I could go back in time I would have Amy for every birth. She knew what I wanted and I would have felt so defeated if I got an epidural. She helped me get through and achieve my vision of birth I had always wanted and didn't thing I could do especially on induction meds. We definitely recommend her for anyone's birth. Amy isn't a regular doula for us she became like family to us. She is an amazing doula to have hands down. She will definitely do all she can to keep your goal in mind even when you feel like you can't. Our kids loved her as well. She was so great with them to. if your looking for a doula who can make you feel at home, cares about your goals, and someone you can be comfortable around Amy is the way to go! You won't regret it. P.S. if you have ever tried a tens unit during labor I would for sure no doubt discuss this with her. She is trained with it and no joke that little machine helped with my pain level even while pushing. I am so glad that was an option from her as well. Keep rocking it our there in the labor/doula world Amy........your the best!
