Why I am a doula and why I can’t help it
I am a doula not because I chose to be, but because it is a summation of what I know to be true about who I am. In some cheesy, pop-culture way, I didn’t choose the doula life; the doula life chose me. In some more meaningful, mature way, this is that perfect fitting feeling of being exactly where I’m meant to be.
Better together
The doula partnership model is a WIN for clients and a WIN for doulas. You get twice the support throughout pregnancy and we get a reasonable work/life balance. I’m thrilled to share that I’m now in partnership with Meagan Thompson of About Birth!
Register for support
You’re going to register for basic needs for baby; why not also register for some help with your own basic needs? There are many ways to add birth or postpartum support to your baby shower registry.
Doulas in the OR
Doulas belong in all places where birth happens, period. At home, in a birthing center, in a labor room at a hospital, and in an OR. Our work doesn’t stop just because the scenery changes.
I am certified!
I did it…I’m CERTIFIED! Amy Jessie, CD(DONA) has an awfully nice ring to it if you ask me.
2021 Wrap-Up
What a year!
2021 has come and (nearly) gone, and with it came ten beautiful families for me to support, seven new certifications and trainings, and a whole heckuva lot to be excited about.
